What is First Fight in Thailand?
On August 24, 2025, First Fight in Thailand held it’s first event in Ao Nang Landmark Stadium in Krabi. Organized by NOW Muay Thai with support from the Sports Authority of Thailand and the local Krabi community, the night featured seven matches with fighters from gyms across Phuket, Krabi and Koh Lanta. Gyms from Bangtao, Tiger Muay Thai, and of course, Khunsuek Muay Thai all had fighters step into the ring.
This event was special because it wasn’t about professional titles or rankings. It was designed for first-time fighters. Tourists who had been training in Thailand finally got the chance to feel what it’s like to step into a real Muay Thai ring in front of a crowd. Fair matchups, mutual respect and unforgettable firsts made this a night to remember.
Khunsuek’s First-Time Fighters
For Khunsuek, it was a proud moment to see two of our students represent the gym in their first fights in Thailand.
-
Jace from Taiwan – Jace’s fight didn’t go as planned. His original opponent pulled out last minute, so he ended up facing someone heavier. Even though he lost on decision, he fought with courage and showed a lot of heart. What really stood out was his Wai Kru. Out of 14 competitors, Jace’s performance was chosen as the Best Wai Kru of the night, winning him 10,000 baht.
-
Anis from France – Anis had the honor of fighting in the main event. His match went five full rounds and was tough from start to finish. With solid technique and a lot of heart, Anis won on decision and earned his very first victory in Thailand.
More Than Just a Match
For both Jace and Anis, the night wasn’t just about winning or losing. It was about facing fears, testing their training and experiencing Muay Thai in the most authentic way possible.
Events like First Fight in Thailand give visitors a chance to connect with Thai culture while also pushing themselves in a safe, respectful setting. For Khunsuek, it was amazing to see our fighters live this experience and represent the gym inside of the ring.
Next Event: September 20th
The good news is that this is only the beginning. The next First Fight in Thailand is already set for September 20, 2025 and we’re excited to send more fighters from Khunsuek to take part. Every student who joins brings their own story and we can’t wait to see who steps into the ring next.
Final Thoughts
At Khunsuek Muay Thai, we believe every fighter has a story worth telling. For Jace and Anis, this was their first step and they’ll carry these memories forever. For us, it was proof of what Muay Thai is really about! Courage, respect and the journey of growth both inside and outside the ring.
